Acceptable use

The principle

A shared SMS route is a common resource. When fraud moves across it, carriers do not respond by removing one sender — they filter the route, raise the price of it, or stop accepting alphanumeric senders on it entirely. Every legitimate customer on that route pays for that, in delivery rates they cannot explain.

So the refusals below are not a statement about your business. They are the categories that have historically cost everyone else their delivery, and they are refused on that basis. We are not interested in your industry, your politics or your jurisdiction.

What we refuse

These are turned off on sight, without a warning step.

• Phishing and credential harvesting. Any message whose purpose is to obtain a password, a one-time code, a seed phrase, a private key or an account recovery answer.
• Impersonating a bank, a payment processor, a government service or a carrier. Including sender IDs chosen to resemble one. This is the single fastest way to get a route filtered for everybody on it.
• Payment fraud. Fake delivery notices carrying a payment link, invoice redirection, refund scams, and “your account is suspended” messages pointing at a collection page.
• Malware and hostile payloads. Links serving malware, or messages engineered to exploit a handset or a messaging client.
• Sexual content involving minors, and content promoting it. No exceptions, no discussion, and the account ends permanently.
• Direct threats and targeted harassment. Messages threatening violence, or campaigns directed at an individual to intimidate them.
• Traffic pumping and route abuse. Artificially generated traffic to premium or revenue-share numbers, and deliberate probing of carrier filters.

Conditional traffic

Not refused, but subject to local rules that we do not control and cannot waive. If a carrier or a regulator in the destination market prohibits it, the message will be filtered there regardless of what we accept here.

• Regulated categories. Gambling, adult content, pharmaceuticals, loans and financial promotions are restricted or banned outright on many networks. Check the destination before spending.
• Cryptocurrency promotion. Legal in most markets, heavily filtered in several, and prohibited in a few. Investment solicitation is the part that gets filtered fastest.
• Political messaging. Subject to election-period rules in many countries, some of which require registration we cannot perform for you.

Your obligations

• You are responsible for the lawfulness of your messages in every market you send to, including consent, content and timing rules.
• You are responsible for your sender ID. Where a market maintains a national register, registration is yours to arrange — we carry the traffic, we cannot file on your behalf.
• You are responsible for your recipient lists, including how they were collected and whether the people on them agreed to be there.
• You are responsible for your API keys and your token. A key that leaks spends your balance, and we cannot tell your traffic from a thief's.

Consent and opt-out

Send to people who agreed to hear from you. Beyond the law, it is the practical difference between a route that keeps delivering and one that starts silently dropping your traffic — carriers measure complaints, and complaint rate is what determines whether your messages arrive next month.

• Honour opt-outs immediately. Inbound STOP and its local equivalents are captured and suppressed across your entire account automatically, on every later campaign, not just the one that triggered it.
• Identify yourself. A recipient should be able to tell who sent a message from the message. Unidentifiable marketing is what generates complaints.
• Respect local quiet hours for marketing traffic. Several markets set them in law; the rest set them in complaint rates.

Enforcement

We do not read your messages for taste and we run no content filter beyond what is described here. What we do act on is evidence: carrier complaints, abuse reports, and the delivery signature of a campaign that has been filtered as fraud.

• Refused categories end the account. Remaining credit is not refunded, which is the only sanction available where there is no identity and no contract to enforce against.
• Everything else gets a message first. Most of what looks like abuse from the outside is a list problem or a sender ID problem, and it is fixable.
• Route protection is immediate. Traffic that is actively getting a route filtered is stopped while it is discussed, not after.

Reporting abuse

If you received a message from this platform that falls into any of the refused categories, tell us. Include the sender ID it arrived from, the time, and the text — that is enough to find the account.

Reports are acted on because it is in our own interest to act on them: the traffic being reported is degrading routes we sell to everyone else.
